About EngineerBench — Engineering & Workshop Calculators
EngineerBench is a free collection of engineering and workshop calculators for makers, students, technicians, and engineers. Use it to work out a machine setting, compare dimensions, estimate material, or check the numbers for a job.
Tools for practical questions
Find drilling RPM from material and bit diameter. Estimate filament use and 3D-print cost. Compare shaft and hole limits, calculate gear ratios, or turn a list of materials and tasks into a project estimate.
Browse the calculators or search for the job you need to do, such as “bolt torque,” “wire size,” or “beam sag.” Each calculator has its own page, with units, a calculation method, and guidance below the inputs.
Use a result without creating an account
Calculations run in your browser. Copy an answer, share a link to the inputs, or save results together for a project. Recent tools, pins, and saved work stay in the browser where you used them; export a backup if you need to keep them elsewhere.
Using the results
Check the units and replace example values with your own measurements. Read the tool’s scope and any warnings alongside the answer. Material presets and simplified models are estimates, not specifications for every application.
Engineering and safety calculations do not replace manufacturer instructions, applicable codes, or professional review. For decisions involving loads, lifting, electricity, or other hazards, verify the complete design and operating conditions.
